I have been painting in watercolor for over 20 years and I absolutely love the medium. I find the layered transparency of watercolor calming and inviting, while consistently keeping me on my toes. Subjects I gather the most inspiration from are cityscapes and coastal scenes. I find stark shadows exciting and it is my goal to capture these moments in time.
Painting and cooking have been my source of communication about my beliefs and what I love in the world. Fine art and culinary art each begin with a dialogue between the artist and subject, as both disciplines share a concern with value, balance, color, proportion and harmony. Knowing that we eat with our eyes, I prepare and arrange food accordingly. It is the fine arts that showed me what I instinctively felt. I see beautiful food presentation as a work of art.
I have always enjoyed looking at my work as it develops into the final stages. As in my cooking, I can realize the subjective and intellectual choices I make during the painting process, and make decisions as to the purpose of the work. Never do I feel the need to attack a canvas but enjoy the lines developing into shapes and compositions that reveal the truth of making art. It is dialogue.
Still life, florals, sea and landscapes, and the figure, are the subjects in my works. I have been through many phases, and mostly my work can be remembered by color, shapes, and an expressionistic approach. I want to known as an artist who represents peace and harmony, respecting the landscape and adoring the beauty that life offers us.
I sell high-quality and eco-friendly prints, note cards, stickers, and ornaments made from my watercolor paintings & sketches of North American birds and wildlife. Each print and note card comes with information about the animal on the back. Spreading awareness about wildlife and their conservation is a main focus of my Hidden Bird Studio work.
I create oil paintings of street scenes from local communities to places far away. I also create printed copies of those paintings to make images affordable for every budget.
Original watercolor paintings and limited edition signed and numbered prints. As a watercolor artist living in Ambler, Pennsylvania my passion is painting, drawing and photographing old buildings and streetscapes in small towns and urban areas. I have always been fascinated by old buildings: the things they have seen and the stories they could tell. I paint old buildings because they are interesting subjects, but also because it gives me a sense of preserving them in some small way.
I will be selling my original paintings (I work mostly in oils, but I do watercolors and pastels as well) as well as prints of my work.
Original, colorful canvas art pieces and other various trinkets (stickers, pins, shirts).
A one-stop art boutique for one of a kind trinket dishes, jewelry, paintings, stationery all designed and made by the artist.
