Steve Teare – Illustrator & Pet Portraits

Steve Teare is a Northwest Philadelphia illustrator whose work has appeared in The New Yorker, Believer Magazine, and the Philadelphia Inquirer. Represented by Stimola Literary Studio, he is currently creating a picture book and a graphic novel for Neal Porter Books.
Since 2015, Steve has delighted customers with whimsical pet portraits, using gouache, ink, and his background as a cartoonist to bring imaginative themes to life.
At the festival, Steve will be offering custom pet portrait sketches on the spot—attendees can text him a photo of their pet with a theme, and he’ll create a playful sketch while they enjoy the festivities. In addition to portraits, Steve’s expanding line of merchandise includes greeting cards, stickers, and more.

Step inside the art! Golden-Thread Labyrinths brings a walkable labyrinth to the Jenkintown Festival of the Arts, offering a oneof- a-kind interactive experience for all ages.
Unlike a maze, a labyrinth is a single winding path—an ancient design re-imagined for today—that invites visitors to slow down, reflect, or simply enjoy the playful journey of walking its turns.
Located at the corner of Cedar and West, this installation is easy to access and simple to navigate around, making it a perfect low-impact addition to the festival. Alongside the labyrinth, the Golden-Thread team will share insights into the history and meaning of labyrinths.
Whether you come for a moment of meditation or just for fun, Golden-Thread Labyrinths offers a journey in every step.
